Primarily from old vines Aligoté planted in 1911; Laurent Ponsot once told me that this wine has rarely gone through malo and the only years that it has are 1959, 1982 and 2007. Note that the last time this wine was 100% Aligoté was in 1964. Strong reduction presently dominates the nose though there is plenty of verve and punch to the beautifully detailed and mineral-driven middle weight flavors that possess fine richness but absolutely no sense of heaviness on the long finish
